how to apply
Life is hard enough right? It seems like even ordering a coffee has got way too confusing these days. Plus we know you are busy, between classes, and homework, and friends, and family and… we get the picture. So, what if this whole study abroad thing was designed to just be easier than everyone told you it was going to be? A process mapped out for you, with simple steps (or dare we say it, hops) to get you approved and on your way. It's easy like hopscotch. That’s what we do.

Hop Application: The who, the what and wheres! Fill out your personal details here and tell us which program you'll be joining us on.
Upload Passport: You'll need a valid passport to study abroad. To avoid potential unwanted snafus, it's best to ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months after you'd get to where you're going. If you don't have a passport yet or your childhood one is expiring, it's time to apply for a new one.
Upload Transcript: Most schools have a process for requesting your official transcript(s) electronically. Once you send it to us, we'll take it from there and do the rest!
Home Institution Approval Form: Have you connected with your study abroad office or academic advisor yet? Not to worry if not! This step ensures you're in talks with your home institution early on.

Course Selection: Picking classes is different for each of our programs. On this form you'll share the courses you'd like to take abroad. This isn't a formal process (that comes much later!), but rather a time to coordinate how these credits will transfer back to your home university.
Pay Program Deposit: The last step before receiving your Hop Acceptance letter! The Hop program deposit is $250 to lock in your dream program. This isn't extra; it goes straight towards your total. It's how we roll- no surprises.
Hop Program Acceptance: You won't have to worry about getting accepted to our programs, every student that meets academic requirements is welcome to hop abroad with us! Your Global Guide will share a formal acceptance letter once the proceeding forms are all in.

Accommodations: We want to know each student's interests and preferences so we can roommate match you with a new friend you're sure to vibe with.
Student Health & Wellness: Your health, safety and wellness are our top priorities. Hop's focus on mindfulness begins well before you board the plane! This form is your opportunity to share any personal wellness information that may be relevant in setting you up for success in your host country.

Student Visa Process: Securing your student visa is when it all gets even more official! Most programs require that you travel with an active student visa. Hop will advise you every step of the way in this process and provide all the documentation needed to apply.
Sign Contract: We've been intentional to create a contract with only the most important and necessary information, so you're not overwhelmed by two dozen pages of text.
Payment Due: Whether your program fees are billed to you directly or sent to your home institution, your Global Guide will advise you on how to submit payment. Our relaxed cancellation policy allows room for life's hiccups and surprises, without the concern of losing money.
Flight & Arrival Information: When you land overseas, your local Hop Go To's will be on the ground ready to greet you! We'll collect your travel itinerary well before departure and get another set of eyes on it.
