Hop Education Abroad "Name-a-Roo" Sweepstakes Terms and Conditions


1. Eligibility:
The "Name-a-Roo" Sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the United States who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry and enrolled in an accredited post-secondary institution. Employees of Hop Education Abroad, their immediate family members, and those living in the same household are not eligible to participate.


2. How to Enter:
To enter the sweepstakes, participants must:

  • Submit a kangaroo name for Hop Education Abroad’s mascot via the official form at hop.education/name-a-roo.

  • Follow Hop Education Abroad on Instagram at @hop.education.

  • Tag 3 friends in the comments of the official sweepstakes post.

  • Share the official sweepstakes post to their Instagram story.

3. Entry Period:
The sweepstakes begins on September 4th, 2024, and runs for six weeks, ending at 11:59 PM (ET) on October 9th, 2024.


4. Prizes:

  • Weekly Winners: Each week, one (1) winner will be selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship to be applied towards a Hop Education Abroad semester program of their choice. This $1000 scholarship must be redeemed by December 31st, 2026.

  • Grand Prize: The six (6) weekly winners will enter a public voting round during the final two (2) weeks of the sweepstakes. The top two (2) entries will be chosen based on the number of votes. From these, one (1) grand prize winner will be selected via a final vote. The grand prize includes a trip to Fiji on the Scholar Island program in August 2025, with an estimated value of $3,950 plus flights. The winning kangaroo name will be used as the official mascot name for Hop Education Abroad.

5. Selection of Winners:

  • Weekly winners will be chosen by Hop Education Abroad based on creativity and originality of the submitted names.

  • The top two names will be decided through public voting in the final two (2) weeks of the contest from October 16th to October 30th.

  • The grand prize winner will be selected by a final public vote.

 

6. Prize Conditions:

  • Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.

  • The grand prize winner is responsible for all applicable taxes and fees associated with the prize.

  • The grand prize trip must be taken in August 2025; specific dates will be provided by Hop Education Abroad.

  • Any changes or cancellations of the prize trip are subject to Hop Education Abroad’s discretion.

7. Publicity:
By participating in this sweepstakes, entrants agree to allow Hop Education Abroad to use their name, likeness, and entry submission for promotional purposes without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.


8. General Conditions:
Hop Education Abroad reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the sweepstakes if any fraud, technical failures, or any other factor impairs the integrity of the contest. In such case, Hop Education Abroad may select winners from eligible entries received prior to the action taken.


9. Limitation of Liability:
By entering, participants agree to release and hold harmless Hop Education Abroad and its affiliates, employees, and agents from any liability, injury, loss, or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with this sweepstake or the acceptance, possession, or use of any prize won.

10. Governing Law:
This sweepstake is governed by the laws of the United States and is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited by law.

11. Sponsor:
