In this course, we will examine how people make predictable and repeatable mistakes in financial decision-making. We will describe the nature of these mistakes and their origin, using insights from psychology, neurosciences and experimental economics on how the human mind works. Then, we will learn the open-source big data management framework Hadoop. We will mainly focus on Hadoop MapReduce programming. YARN, HDFS, HBase, and Hive will be briefly introduced as well. We will also learn an open-source memory-based distributed computing framework Spark. To be eligible for a Hop Education Abroad program, students must be currently enrolled at a degree-granting college or university, have completed at least one year of their undergraduate studies prior to departure, and be in good academic standing at their home institution.
We do not have a set GPA requirement to participate in our programs—we believe in making global experiences as accessible as possible. However, some of our international university partners or your home institution may set their own academic eligibility criteria.
