Bond's four faculties—Business, Law, Health Sciences and Medicine, and Society & Design—provide courses in fields ranging from Business and Law to Communication and Film Studies, all accredited to high standards, such as the AACSB accreditation for the Business Faculty. During your study abroad semester at Bond University, you'll be immersed in a full-time academic schedule, enrolling in three to four subjects across diverse disciplines. Whether you choose a concentrated area of study or a mix of various subjects, each course typically requires three to four hours of classroom time per week, including lectures, tutorials, seminars and labs.

This subject bridges the gap between financial theory and practice through the in-depth examination of an organisation’s three key financial decisions – the investment (i.e., capital budgeting), the financing (i.e., capital structure) and the payout (i.e., dividend). This is undertaken within the context of responsible corporate governance, supported by appropriate quantitative models and applied through contemporary case studies focusing on boardroom decisions.TERM

Advanced Criminal Law is an elective subject in undergraduate programs offered by the Faculty of Law. This subject aims to extend students’ understanding of the practice, principles and policies that shape legislative, practitioner and judicial approaches to criminal law. Students will examine advanced criminal law topics that are vital to the practice of criminal law, including those that present specific challenges. The subject is designed to also consider emerging issues in criminal justice. It has a comparative focus, detailing approaches of various Australian and foreign jurisdictions. It provides an opportunity for students to engage in a significant self-directed research project that will allow students to think critically about criminal law. Further, students are required to undertake practical assignments relating to criminal procedure, such as client interviewing and a fictitious court hearing in an application for bail.TERM

Advanced Econometrics

Many types of economic and financial data naturally occur as a series of data points in temporal order. Stock market indices are a classic example of such time series. Standard statistical methods are not appropriate for such data. This subject provides an introduction to time series econometrics with an emphasis on practical applications to typical economic and financial issues. Emphasis will be placed on determining when it is appropriate to use the various time series econometrics techniques and the use of appropriate software to conduct the analysis.TERM

Advanced Screen Business (Project Development)

In this advanced subject, students work on a major student screen project in teams, to research and develop extensive pre-production materials, such as script development, schedule, budget, locations, casting, on-set safety etc. Students study the many factors which impact the production process, including contracts, copyright laws, business start-up, and other financial aspects. Students pitch their developed projects to a selection panel in a competitive process. Projects selected by the panel are then given the greenlight to go into production in the following semester in the subject Graduation Screen Project.TERM

Advanced Screen Directing and Showrunning

In this advanced subject, students explore a broad range of sophisticated approaches to the elegant use of the camera to visually portray a film's narrative beyond the conventional Hollywood approach. Students will produce a short film to apply these techniques, and develop a style of their own. Students also learn the essential skills of showrunning, and explore how showrunners work with writers, directors, and producers to create compelling, and engaging shows on television or streaming services.TERM

To be eligible for a Hop Education Abroad program, students must be currently enrolled at a degree-granting college or university, have completed at least one year of their undergraduate studies prior to departure, and be in good academic standing at their home institution.
We do not have a set GPA requirement to participate in our programs—we believe in making global experiences as accessible as possible. However, some of our international university partners or your home institution may set their own academic eligibility criteria.
Bond University has a minimum GPA requirement of 2.5.
