The subject provides an overview of different economic systems and the role of global institutions in the economy. The course deals with the challenges and solutions of different economic sectors and fields of activity.

This course overviews: a) Theory of granulation and pelletisation (mechanisms of granule/pellet formation), b) Materials characterization relevant to granulation processing, c) Spray drying, d) Supercritical fluid technology, e) High-shear, fluid-bed and roller compaction technologies, f) Process end-point detection in granulations, g) Pelletisation techniques, h) Tablet compression and bond formation, i) Compression equations, force-displacement /force-time treatments and stress relaxation, j) Instrumentation of tablet machines, and k) PAT/PIT issues related to granulation and tableting.

As consequences of human-induced climate change are increasingly visible, the green transition has become an ever more salient political issue. On the global stage, the EU has emerged as one of the leaders of green transition, aiming at climate neutrality by 2050. To provide a comprehensive overview of the EU's green transition, this MA course sets out three intertwined goals. First, it will conceptualize the green transition as a major economic restructuring with variegated costs for different economic sectors and social groups. Second, it will provide students with a comprehensive overview of the EU's "green" initiatives as they have developed over time. Specific attention will be paid to the EU's current policies at the intersection of green finance, energy, and climate policies. Third, the course will explain how the European climate policy is situated in the broader context of EU politics and governance. Particular attention will be paid to the key roles of the European Commission, the Council, the Parliament, as well as the European Central Bank. Due to its topicality and societal relevance, the course is relevant to students interested in EU governance and policy but also how they are related to broader processes in the global economy.

The course will provide hands-on training on opto-mechanical components, building optical set ups such as imaging and holography systems and interferometers, optimizing them and making measurements. The course is predominantly experimental with informative lectures to describe the theory and concepts of the respective optical instrumentation.

General principles of the microscopic structure of tissues and organs as well stages of early human embryonic development are studied. During practical classes characteristics of tissues and organs are investigated by means of examination of histological slides. The duration of the course is two semesters - in the first semester in general histology basic tissue types are studied and overview of early stages of human embryonic development is given, in the second semester in special histology microscopic structures of organs and organ systems are studied.
