Blue-Green Infrastructures offer a feasible, economical, and valuable solution for urban regions facing challenges of climate change. This course gives an overview of BGI-s and their functions in urban environment. Introduces principles, applications, and policies of and related to BGI-s. The course deals with climate change and its consequences, with the flood risks and its management and with pollution control using complex sustainable approaches. The course describes measures to climate change adaption, principles of sustainable urban drainage systems (SUDS), introduces different SUDS solutions for stormwater and flood risk management. This course demonstrates how BGI-s techniques function and how they can contribute to climate adaptation strategy.TERM

Key events of the 20th century British and Irish histories are studied decade by decade while some prevalent topics (the emancipation of women, the Irish question, the demise of the British Empire, the development of democracy and of popular culture, immigration issues) are dealt with thematically. British Children's Literature in Language Learning

The subject concentrates on recognized children's books, well-known characters and heroes, positive and educative message of the British Children's Literature treated in the 1st and 2nd school stage. Different authors, both children's classic and contemporary tendencies are analyzed. Children's poetry (nursery rhymes), fairy tales and contemporary BCL are focused on. While integrating literature and language learning appropriate activities which motivate foreign language learning in the 1st and 2nd school stages are introduced. Thus interactive methods, drama activities, as well as analyses of film clips are used.TERM

University of Tartu requires good academic standing and approval from your home institution. There is no minimum GPA.

You will be living in Raatuse 22 residence hall within walking distance of the main university buildings and city center. Rooms are twins with shared bathroom and kitchen spaces (usually 2–3 rooms per shared unit). Rooms are furnished and include bedding; Hop provides some basic cookware, and you’ll often be gifted a saucepan or two from the previous resident. Halls are secure, social, and student-run at heart—with laundry access, Wi-Fi, and easy access to public transit. Whether you’re meal prepping with your flatmates or heading out for late-night pelmeenid (Estonian dumplings), you’re living right in the mix of student life.

Tartu is Estonia’s second-largest city, but its spirit is young, walkable, and wired. It’s small enough to feel personal, but full of life—especially when the semester is in full swing.
