    The course provides an overview about the major problems and social conflicts in the contemporary Estonian society: the problems with the Russian minority, mass-emigration, poverty and social inequality, problems with gender equality, political culture and participation, etc. The students are expected to read scolarly articles and analyzes about the major developments in the Estonian society. These materials are later discussed both from the sociological and the political science perspective. The course also talks about the historical evolution of the Estonian society and the social and political developments in Estonia are compared with other post-communist countries, particularly with the neighbouring Baltic States.

  • To be eligible for a Hop Education Abroad program, students must be currently enrolled at a degree-granting college or university, have completed at least one year of their undergraduate studies prior to departure, and be in good academic standing at their home institution.

    We do not have a set GPA requirement to participate in our programs—we believe in making global experiences as accessible as possible. However, some of our international university partners or your home institution may set their own academic eligibility criteria. 

    Tallinn University requires good academic standing and approval from your home institution. There is no minimum GPA.
