Seoul International Summer School (SISS) at the University of Seoul has been welcoming international students to Seoul for a truly immersive experience in Korean culture and tradition for over twenty years. Nestled in the heart of Seoul, the University of Seoul, with 12,000 students, university thrives in a city that's rich in history and buzzing with energy. Renowned for its transport and engineering programs, study and research here are supercharged by Seoul’s dynamic urban vibes, making it an awesome base to understand the city. Plus, the university is big on civic values and innovation, encouraging students to dive into volunteering and real-world projects that make a difference.

  • Founded in 1918 as Kyung Sung Public Agricultural College, the University of Seoul has grown into one of South Korea's most prestigious institutions. A public institution supported by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and located in the heart of South Korea's bustling capital, the university benefits from the city's rich history and vibrant metropolitan environment. The university’s programs and research are shaped by Seoul’s dynamic urban setting, making it an exciting place for the 12,000 students that study here. The institution has 8 colleges offering 118 degree programs, and the campus is vast and diverse with over 200 buildings.

  • Summer I - Jun 30 - July 30, 2025

    Students can choose between two tracks, each offering different course options. Each track includes two courses, totaling 6 US credits (10 ECTS), with 45 teaching hours per class.


    Korean Language

    According to the level of the students, there will be open classes of Korean Language. Korean Language classes will be in the afternoon from 1 to 4 on each class-day.

    The "Business in Korean perspective" track offers students a chance to learn about the Korean economy, business practices, and global marketing management in the context of the Asian market.     Each class day features a dynamic schedule designed to immerse students in Korean culture and language. Morning sessions (9 AM to 12 PM) include eight special lectures on various aspects of Korea, such as K-Mass Media, K-Webtoons, K-Drama & Movies, K-Pop, Korean café, food, and drink culture, UNESCO World Heritage sites, K-Business, and K-Economics (*topics subject to change). In the afternoons (1 PM to 4 PM), students will attend Korean language classes tailored to their proficiency level, as indicated during the application process. This comprehensive program ensures a rich and engaging exploration of Korean society and language.

You’ll live on-campus in a shared room where you will be immersing yourself in a vibrant student community and making the most of your time in Korea. The dorms are air-conditioned with large windows that let in plenty of natural light. The atmosphere here is lively and supportive, fostering a sense of community among students from all over the world. Each room is 13m², designed for two people, and comes furnished.The university's dormitory is a perfect place to explore this vibrant city, offering easy access to public transportation and all the cultural experiences Seoul has to offer.

Jeonju

Explore the heart of traditional Korea. Discover the rich history, taste authentic cuisine, and participate in hands-on cultural activities in the charming city of Jeonju.

Peer Advocate Program

The buddy program pairs Hop students with Korean students to help you adjust to life in Korea. The buddies can show you around Seoul and help you explore everything the city offers.
