Estonia’s historical connection provides students with one of the best opportunities to learn Russian in the region. The teachers in the course are all native speakers of Russian and they all use the most up-to-date teaching materials. Furthermore, the course offers a real opportunity for genuine communication in Russian – while at the same time offering European standards of safety and service. NAImmerse yourself in Russian culture through its films, music, and language. This course enhances your Russian skills with engaging activities such as analyzing iconic movies, discussing famous songs and musicians, and participating in interactive writing and speaking exercises. A conversational workshop helps build fluency in everyday interactions through role-playing and group discussions. Additionally, explore Russian slang and colloquial expressions, gaining insight into their cultural significance and appropriate usage. By the end of the course, you'll have a deeper understanding of both formal and informal Russian communication.

your abode
Hop students will live in the student dormitories with other summer school students. The rooms are twin or tripe share. The dormitories are located a five minute walk from Tallinn University and walking distance from the city center. The dormitory has WiFi, shared kitchens, shared shower and bathrooms, bed-linen, and access to washing machines (extra charge), but no cleaning service. You’ll be surrounded by both local Estonian and international students, giving you the perfect blend of cultural immersion and student life.

Tallinn is a city of contrasts—where medieval castles and digital startups exist side by side. By day, you’ll explore cozy cafés, hidden speakeasies, and cutting-edge tech hubs. By night, you might find yourself at a sauna by the Baltic Sea, a vibrant street festival, or a live music gig in an old Soviet warehouse. Estonia is known for its deep traditions in song and storytelling, and through our curated Hop-Up events, you’ll experience everything from traditional folk music to Estonia’s legendary e-society in action.

Dacha
One of the concepts of Russian culture is connected with tea-drinking (чаепитие) that is strongly affiliated to another cultural phenomenon – Dacha – traditional Russian summer house where people spend free time, work in the garden and meet guests. Wild herbs and berries picked up in the forest around dacha and in its garden in summer season are the best source of health and different teas made from them give people energy in winter time.
Narva
Visit the most Russian-speaking city of the European Union – Narva, located at the Estonian-Russian border where 95% of the population speak Russian. Put your Russian skills to the test with the locals while exploring this incredible Estonian town.
Rakvere and Lahemaa
Explore Lahemaa National Park and Viru bog to experience the true beauty of natural Estonia, take a short hike through the green park and picturesque Viru bog, and see local plants, flowers, trees, mushrooms, berries, birds and perhaps even animals. After hiking, explore the majestic halls of Rakvere Castle.
